I do not want too many men with sexual interests show up in those countries that I myself consider best, primarily China, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Therefore, publicly accessible articles on places are always slightly tilted towards the one country where men who arrive with a sexual interest will do the least harm: Thailand.
Thailand has been so overrun with foreign men seeking sexual adventures that they can't do much harm here. Anyway, Thais, by and large, have a low opinion on Westerners, even when they are friendly, and the women available to foreigners mostly are those that Thai men no longer have an interest in.
So, in correction to the information of the public-access part of this article, let me add:
You can easily rent apartments in China without a permit from the local police.
And you should not have a problem staying in Indonesia for up to eight months on tourist visas.
