Male travelers to Cambodia should be aware that they are not just suspected to be sex tourists but potential child molesters, too. There are numerous organisations in Cambodia that are dedicated towards the protection of children from foreign men. The "raison d'etre" of these organisations is to actually catch pedophiles. More often than not, they are under internal pressure to produce results (donations by the public depend on such successes). Overzealousness of activists can lead to foreign men finding themselves in the role of suspects, even when they have not committed any crime.
